About "Wounded Heart    Soaring Spirit" Metis Medicine Baskets & Paintings My name is Sandra of the Gardens. I am Metis (Ojibiway Cree French decent). The BASKETS are my TEACHERS. I am a mother of 6 children and a retired teacher and art therapist.                    Do you have questions about basket weaving? Would you like to share your experiences? I often make custom designed baskets for people based on their specific desires and needs. I also do paintings and drawings in a variety of mediums for people in this same way. Since I have had the pleasure of getting to know her during a sewing class, I said I would be honored to read it and give a review. Sandra was worried that I may think differently of her after reading this book. My reply to her after reading the first third  was, "As to the book....I do want to finish reading it. Don't be nervous as I would never judge a damaged child's journey into a better place. The woman that survives can only be admired. The woman that has the courage to put on paper experiences that so many never find the strength of spirit to bring into the light can only be praised. Your journey and book should be promoted and shared. If it helps just one other damaged child/adult find the strength to find their spirit again, it would be worth all the effort. If it opens the eyes of just one person who fails to see, it will be invaluable. "      P. Banker
