"Ask about Taylor Hutchinson. Amazing young girl with a super talent for training. Boarded and worked for me for almost 8 years (since grade school) until she left this Spring to go to Findlay.Locally, she won almost everything on a little App gelding she completely trained herself. She has already been bumped to the Varsity Equestrian team, even though she is only a freshman. Almost strauight A's on all her equine activities. She is detail oriented and consistent. Extremely picky and you will be 100% pleased with her! Great kid too if you ever get to meet her. She is the perfect all around rider. She excels in SMS and Trail. Her App gelding was virtually unbeatable in both events anywhere in this area. Her gelding was also a super WP horse, even after we told her we never thought he'd make a western horse. Think that kinda pushed her. :) She has qualified for State Fair every year she attempted and always places well in either SMS, Trail, Eq or HMS. She loves pattern work. She is very patient and does not cut corners. Good kid. You'll be totally pleased with her if she gets to work with your boy. Let me know if it works out. Would love to hear about it!

Looking for a motivated, high energy, EXTREMELY responsible indvidual who is serious about developing a correct seat and training foundation, as well as learning all aspects of sport horse care and stable management.Our facility has lovely stables, a large indoor and outdoor arena, riding field, hacking trails, and beautiful turnouts. Farm hosts educational clinics and occasional schooling shows. This position requires a five day work week with duties consisting of various aspects of horse care and barn chores. You will receive education in caring for show horses, stable management, grooming at horse shows, lunging horses, riding, and eventually, possibly teaching if ability permits. You must be of excellent character, be comfortable handling horses of all types, and not afraid to ask questions. Dressage experience is not as important as a student’s desire to learn. You will need to bring your own horse. You will need to cover your horse’s farrier and medical expenses as well as have reliable transportation. Chosen applicant will receive free full board and training for both you and your horse. The horses at the farm range from broodmares and foals to experienced schoolmasters, and include many different breeds. Riding of other horses available as education increases. Both of us are experienced in horse and animal care, and have owned our own horses for years. We currently only own one horse, a TB gelding who steeplechased in his younger days.
We are willing to do just about anything on your farm, but of course prefer to work with the horses! Mucking out, bringing in/out, feeding, haying, watering, fixing fences; both of us can drive a tractor and manure spreader. My husband can drive a small trailer as well. I'm sure I could learn with some patience and practice.
We have experience with large and small, stallion/mare/gelding, foals, pregnant mares. I have assisted with artificial inseminations, but do not have a lot of experience in the breeding industry - although that, and nutrition, is where my heart really lies.
We are both extremely fast learners and willing to tackle just about anything. This can either be something where we BOTH work on the farm, are supplied housing and a liveable salary - or - it can be a position in which only I work on the farm in exchange for housing and a very small salary (or no salary and all utilities including cable/internet included) and my husband finds a job off the farm to supplement.
We have a 3.5 month old daughter who is already carted to the barn every day, so she is not a problem - but of course, we need to be albe to buy her stuff she needs!
We also have two very well behaved collie-mixes who know how to behave around horse, are non-destructive, but are kennel trained and stay in their kennels when we are gone.

Experience with ranch horses, race horses, broodmares, saddle
breaking, and more!!! I have my own ranch horses I ride for pleasure
or for working cattle. I used to work on a broodmare ranch and was
responsible for the foals and halter breaking them but once I
finished that, I got laid off. From there I moved on to work with
race horses, being the pony girl (outrider) and helping the gallop
boy, but again I got laid off when the boss sent all of his horses to
the track and I was left without work. Now I'm saddle breaking horses
for a man but would love a more well paying job that is more
dependable and not something I have to fear of getting laid off
again. I would love a job at a race track either as a groom or pony
person (outrider) or something. I had the chance to go to Lone Star
Park in Grand Prairie, TX but someone threatened me about the job and
I had to turn the offer down for my own well being. I was going to be
living in a dorm on the track and working there with the horses,
getting paid a weekly salary. I would love to have a chance like that
again with living quarters and a weekly salary on a track. If not a
track, then really any sort of horse related job which uncludes a
place for me and my cow dog to live. If you do now want my dog there,
I completely understand, I would just need to keep him in a boarding
kennel somewhere close to the job site. I don't want to sell my baby!
Anyway, I have a lot of experience with horses, a ton of patience,
and I'm a really great rider. I'm just trying to find a better horse job.

I owned an Arabian mare who i bought green broke she was twelve and stood in a pasture all her life, and when i was through she went western pleasure,English,hunter, and ran barrels.I was very successful with her,but my success didn't stop there. I started riding one then i quickly became a sensation and started riding another persons horses as well i have pictures! people were upset calling me the ringer lol!! in 2005 the Missouri fox trotting horses association presented me with a plack and a certificate stating i finished 2nd in the association as a whole meaning state wide. when i was younger i took hunter jumper lessons. my first show on a 16h thoroughbred very hot head of a mare named maddam i placed two 2Nd's and a 3rd. I'm amazing on a horse that's where i belong and i believe I'm destined for greatness in that area. i moved to Ohio from California and no longer have my horses, but I'm trying to find a way back into it.my neighbor down the street used to breed Arabians and had her whole barn full they all got ridden except for one FLAME she stated he was a hot head and everone was scared of him so i took it as a challenge and said i would ride him come to find out i loved that horse he was amazing and just needed some understanding, and got paid to ride an amazing beautiful horse! Arabians will always be my breed of choice but ill ride anything you give me. i also used to ride and handle large thoroughbreds, and warm bloods when i was doing hunter jumping. Through my studies I have gained knowledge in Equine Nutrition, Anatomy, Stable Management, Horse Show Management, Farrier Science and Conformation. With the help of Virginia Intermont, I was able to gain practical experience through hands on learning. I also participated in The Virginia Intermont Classic, an ‘A’ rated horse show put on by Virginia Intermont at the Virginia Horse Center. At the horse show I worked for both the Madeira School and Oldfields School helping prepare both horse and riders for competition.
I began my career with horses helping out at a local barn with weekend barn chores. This eventually led to teaching beginner lessons and riding some of the greener horses. Over time, I took on more lessons of varying levels and began training horses for the lesson program. I have shown some of the horses I have trained in a few local shows with great success.
While attending college I began to help out my trainer at school with some of her horses in my spare time and would also help out with barn chores at her farm. I was also part of the IHSA team where I competed as an Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter rider. Virginia Intermont also encouraged outside showing which I was happy to take part in. I took part in local shows at college where I took home many champion ribbons.
During the summers between my college years, I worked as a camp counselor at Pony Farm. Pony Farm gave me many of experiences that I feel will help me in many situations in years to come. I taught lessons to intermediate riders. During barn chores, I supervised children as they learned the responsibilities of taking care of their own ponies. I was in charge of feeding and administering medications to the horses. I trailered horses to and from the veterinarian’s office for health issues. Also, I took children to local horse shows where I helped the children prepare themselves and their ponies for the local horse show world.
After graduation I took a job in Maryland at The Potomac Horse Center. Here my duties were to train green horses and teach lessons of all levels. The Horse Center provided me with many experiences that allowed me to gain patience through teaching those that may have never rode or those that were a little intimidated by the size of the horse. I learned creative approaches to teaching jumping lessons on older horses. Finally, I learned the importance of working together as a team to benefit the well-being of the horses.
